How do i organize all these coupons?????
Clipping coupons is a great way to turn a few minutes of free time on Sunday into a week's worth of savings. Coupons can be found anywhere from the Sunday paper to the weekly ads that you probably find cluttering up your mailbox. If you keep your eyes open, you can also find coupons printed on store receipts or attached to ads in magazines. Keeping track of all these coupons is the key to maximizing your savings.
Keep them Together
- Masses of neatly clipped coupons are useless if they're scattered throughout the house. Even if you don't have time to organize them thoroughly, create a convenient place to stash coupons any time you come across them. One popular option for organizing coupons is a small accordion file designed for just this purpose. This type of system comes with dividers in place, and typically includes several small stickers for labeling them. If you're looking for a more frugal option, a series of envelopes can work as well. Other organization systems that work for coupons include small boxes designed for index cards, a wallet dedicated exclusively to coupons or an empty shoebox.
Organization
- Once you have your coupons corralled into one place, begin the task of organizing them. The easiest way to organize coupons is by category. Broad categories may include food, pet and toiletries. Since food coupons are probably taking up the majority of your coupon box, you may also want to divide this into more specialized segments. Sections such as dairy, cereals, canned goods and desserts, will keep your coupons neat and organized. Keep coupons for restaurants separate as well. If you eat out a lot, sorting these by pizza, fast food and full service restaurants may also help. If you only clip coupons for one or two things, you can sort them by date as well, keeping the coupons that expire the soonest in front.
Establish a Routine
- For dedicated coupon clippers, a weekly routine is a must. Set aside a chunk of time once a week to update your coupon collection. An ideal time for this is Sunday afternoon when you're clipping that week's coupons from the paper. First, collect the new coupons to be added to your collection. If you've come across coupons throughout the week that you didn't have time to sort, these may be sitting in a special envelope waiting for just this time. Sort your coupons into piles by category. Before adding your new finds to the collection, take a few moments at least every other week to weed out the expired coupons from your existing stash. Once you've cleared out the old, incorporate your new finds into your filing system, leaving everything neat and ready for your next shopping trip.

Pick Up Papers When You Travel
Did you know that the Sunday coupon inserts vary from region to region? It's true; and in fact, it's great news if you like to travel. Pick up a Sunday paper whenever you go out of town, and you're likely to net coupons that you've never seen before.
Buy Extra Papers
Find a bunch of good coupons in the paper? Then, consider buying an extra copy – or copies. If you know that the coupons in this week's paper will save you $12, then spending $2 on another paper makes sense.
Tip: Some stores discount their Sunday papers on Monday morning. Find out if there are any stores in your area that do this.
Combine BOGO Sales with BOGO Coupons
Like freebies? Then try this: combine a buy one get one free coupon with a buy one get one free sale, and you'll get both items free. Pretty slick, eh?
Use Competitor's Coupons
Lots of stores accept competitor coupons. Find out which ones do. Then, work those coupons:
•Stores that Accept Competitor's Coupons
Coupon the Clearance Rack
Clearance prices are good, but they can get even better. Carry your coupons with you at all times, and you'll be ready to match coupons on the fly.
Coupon in the Trial Section
Most coupons specify the size of the product that must be purchased, but when they don't it's an invitation to get creative. Take your "any size" coupons to the trial size section of the store, and match them up to those pint-sized goodies. Then, load your cart with lots of free loot.
Thanks to about.com for the great tips as always

Did you get your papers today?
Remember there are many ways to get your papers, but you cant start couponing with out the coupons! So get your butt out there and pick some up. Standard rule of thumb is 1 paper per person in the household. Dont forget to make sure your inserts are in the paper before purchase, and if you see some coupons you absolutley have to have, buy a few extra papers, it'll be worth it. My favorite place to go to get my papers is Starbucks. I can grab one, sit down with some coffee, and have some me time while I browse the inserts and decide how many papers im going to purchase. Cant wait to see which ones I will be getting today!
Online shopping money saving tips.
Online shopping has grown immensely over the past few years. There are so many advantages to shopping online in addition to just finding a great deal delivered to your door. Here are some great tips to help you save money while shopping online.
Shop Ahead of Time
Give yourself plenty of time before special events when shopping online to allow for shipping of your order and avoiding costly expedited shipping fees. Giving yourself some time also allows you to shop around for specials. You might have a purchase in mind and know you don't need to order it today and then you find it on sale or a particular website is having a promotion to help you save money.
Earn Cash Rebates and Incentives for Shopping Online
There are several free websites out there that work as virtual shopping malls and offer incentives for shopping through them. You actually make your purchases through actual merchant's websites, but you get there through the virtual mall website in order to earn your rewards. Some of these websites offer points that can later be redeemed for gift certificates or gift items. Two examples are Club Mom and My Points. Other free websites offer cash back rebates on every purchase you make by shopping online through their website. Some of these include My Power Mall, Ebates and Inbox Dollars. The great thing about these free websites that offer cash back is that you earn cash to spend however you choose. You are not limited to specific gift cards or gift items you don't really want.
Look-up Coupon Codes
It's always a great idea to see if there are any valid coupon codes you can use toward your purchase. Sign up to receive notification from websites who specialize in this. One example is Couponcabin. You can sign up to receive a newsletter with the hottest online deals and you can also go to their website before a purchase and look up the store you're considering to buy from and see if there are any deals you can take advantage of. Sometimes you can find a coupon code for a certain amount off of a purchase, or my favorites are a coupon codes for free or discounted shipping. Some other examples of coupon code websites are Fightdivx, Ecoupons and Currentcode. Please note though, if you shop through a virtual mall as mentioned above, write down the coupon code, go to your virtual mall, click on the merchant link and only then input the coupon code. Clicking directly to the merchant website without going through your virtual mall will cause you to lose your rebate or incentive from the virtual mall.
Be Sure to Add It All Up!
Make sure you take all things into consideration before you decide you've found the best deal online. Just because you found the cheapest price on a product in one place doesn't mean that it's the best deal in the end. You need to be sure to add the price of the product, tax if applicable and shipping. Sometimes there is an outrageous shipping charge to make up for the low price on a product. You should be able to look up this information on the website under "customer service" or "FAQ" but if you still can't find all the information you need, go ahead and enter the product as if you were going to purchase it and see what they calculate for tax and shipping. Just don't enter your credit card information. Only then can you legitimately compare prices between online merchants.
Free Membership to Money Saving Newsletters
You should sign up for newsletters directly with companies and with some money saving groups. For example, if you shop regularly at Toys-R-Us, Fisher-Price or Lillian Vernon, make sure you're on their mailing list so you hear about their online shopping sales right away. Often times there are deals for free shipping. Free shipping can make or break an online shopping deal. You also want to sign up to forums or online newsletters from groups who are out there scouting out the best online shopping deals. One great newsletter is from Mommysavers.com. They also have a superb forum to learn about many other ways to save money.
Don't Ignore Shopping from Smaller Websites/Retailers
Just because you're not familiar with a particular website doesn't mean it's not any good. I have found some great deals on some smaller merchant websites and have had great customer service as well. That doesn't mean you shouldn't check them out. Be sure to read their return policy, and make sure there is a way to contact them for customer service should you need it. You may also be able to find merchant ratings online.
Added Bonuses
If you're anything like me, I don't look forward to hauling two kids to various stores or to the mall for the day to shop for something. It's more frustrating than enjoyable and there is no guarantee I'm going to find what I'm looking for, or for a reasonable price. By shopping online I save time and money. No hassle of crowds or grouchy kids and it's much easier to comparison shop between stores for the best deal. And I'm saving money on gas and not polluting the air!
I hope you found these online shopping tips useful and may you find some great deals on your future online shopping adventures!

How to save money on your clothing costs year round!
Clothes are often one of our biggest expenses, particularly if you have children, or a job that requires you to wear business attire. So, how can you save money on your clothing bill?
2. Have a monthly or yearly clothing budget. This can be difficult at times, but if you have a set amount of money set aside for clothing, and make it clear that the family cannot spend over this, you will save money.
3. Shop at thrift stores. Thrift stores don't have the stigma they used to, in fact most people shop at thrift stores at one time or another. There are even chains of thrift stores now such as, Value Village, and Goodwill. Also, some thrift stores have new clothing items. These may have minor defects, but even if they do, the defects are rarely even noticeable! Another benefit of thrift stores is that there is much more variety; no racks of the same clothing over and over, just in different sizes.
4. Shop at garage and estate sales. You can often find some of the best deals on clothing at garage and estate sales, quite a bit of it high quality, and since the people often just want to get rid of stuff as well as making a profit, the clothing items tend to be cheap.
5. Purchase clothing out of season. Buy sweaters, coats and other winter clothing in the Spring and Summer, and buy summer clothing such as sandals, and shorts in Winter and Fall. You will be most likely to get the best price out of season because no one else is buying at that time.
Here are 19 tips for saving money on your clothing bill:
1. Have a list of everyone's clothing sizes, and their preferences for colors and styles which you can carry with you when clothing shopping. This way you don't buy something that a family member won't wear.
6. Remember that you may not find what you are looking for immediately when shopping second-hand. Don't purchase clothing just because it is on sale or cheap. Only buy a clothing item if it is in a color, size and style that you know you or a family member will actually wear, otherwise this is money wasted, not saved.
7. Shop at the clearance racks. Most stores have clearance racks of some kind, often with high quality clothing marked way down. Be careful though, particularly if you are shopping for children and teens. Steer both you and your kids away from fads, and don't buy fad clothing that is fading fast from the clearance racks. Also, check the clothing items closely for stains, rips, missing buttons or any other possible problems. If the problem is easily fixed and you know you and/or your family member will do it, then go ahead and buy the item, otherwise don't, because it will just sit in a closet and never be worn.
8. Shop for kids and teens in August. Many stores have back-to-school sales that include clothing at this time of year, you can often find very good deals on new, high quality clothing.
9. Sell your and your family's good used clothing to a consignment shop. This way you make money on your used clothing, and you are also recycling.
10. Purchase iron on patches for the knees in pants. This works especially well for kids who are hard on their clothing. Iron them on the inside and that way it will be harder to wear a hole there and will save you money on replacing pants for the kids.
11. Purchase one of those fuzzy ball removers for your family's sweaters. It will help your sweaters to last longer if you remove these little balls periodically.
12. Buy underwear and socks for your entire family in August before school starts, you can get some really great bargains at this time of year.
13. Accessorize. This can be one of the best money saving tips there is because you can change the whole look of an outfit or piece of clothing just by adding different jewelry, scarves, or even ties.

14. Purchase clothing in colors and styles that can mixed and matched with other items in your closets. This will give you more variety and save you money.
15. Shop for clothing at discount stores such as Kmart, Ross, and Marshalls. These stores often have good quality lower priced clothing, and some even have clearance racks so you can sometimes get double the savings.
16. Stop purchasing clothing you don't need. This applies if when inventorying your or one of your family member's closets you find clothing items that you or they only wore once or twice or never wore at all, and now you are asking yourself, "Why did I buy this?"
17. Get together with your friends, (and encourage your girls to do this as well) and trade clothes each of you don't want. Sometimes one person's cast off is another person's treasure.
18. Shop online for your clothing. The only real draw back with this, particularly if you are shopping on e-bay where the clothing may be used is you cannot try it on, nor check the item out visually to be sure it doesn't have defects you cannot see in the picture. Just like in regular stores, online stores have sales too, and when they have a good return policy as well, you can save considerable money.
19. Take care of your clothing and teach your family members how to take care of their clothing. Treating stains right away, & sewing on popped off buttons and small tears immediately will help clothes to last longer.
We all need good quality clothing, however, there is no reason that you or your family members should have to pay a ton of money buying clothing. I know if you utilize these tips you will begin to see savings on your clothing bill right away! Thanks to Reqina Paul, Yahoo Contributor for so many helpful tips.

Tip of The Day! another one for the college students
Choose The Right Meal Plan
Campus meal plans vary depending on the university -- quality, how often you eat, how much you eat, and location can all factor in. A meal plan can be a good deal, however, so do a little research and see if it's worth it. Grab a brochure; ask meal plan veterans; anything to get a little taste. Some universities offer off-campus meal plans, too. These usually involve deals w/food chains, so make sure the plan is appealing to you. If you decide to skip out on a meal plan, it's possible to eat enough and eat healthy on your own budget. Cut out some great coupons, buy in bulk and sign up for a shopper's discount card. Be creative and plan dinners with roommates and friends instead of going to more expensive restaurants.Tip of The Day!
Buy Textbooks From Used Bookstores: A tip for college students
New textbooks from university bookstores can be very expensive. Brand new editions of chemistry books, for instance, can cost as much as $300, and that's not including any lab material. However, you can cut costs on reading materials and not starve. Look around for used bookstores. Most college campuses should have several, the prices are heavily discounted, and book conditions are usually good. If you have enough time before classes start, check out the Internet for your books. Even with shipping charges, prices can turn out to be cheaper from online bookstores. And don't forget -- some of your friends might have taken a course in the past. Ask around and see if you can borrow from someone.Tuesday, October 18, 2011
%75 of you say its the time that it may take you.....results
What scares you the most about couponing?
Well, %75 percent of you say it’s the time it may take. Did you know that there are many other ways to coupon than using the binder system? All it’s really going to take is you being fed up with being broke all the time and want to start living life again without worrying about money. A little commitment of checking sale adds, and maybe rearranging how you shop at the store aren’t things that are going to take you hours a week. Give it maybe an extra 15minutes to plan your shopping trip before you go to the store and I promise that you’ll see big savings your first trip. And the more money you see you can save with a little effort will make you want to push a little more to see what you can save next time, and the next time. Pretty soon it becomes a great family hobby that is like a treasure hunt every time you go shopping, as well it’s a great way to teach your children hands on how to save and spend money wisely. All in all I’d say there are some pretty cool benefits to this whole coupon thing. J
Thanks Always,
Caira

Results of shopping trip
So super bummed they were out of the 2 liters I wanted but I was kind of expecting that so no biggy, but still feel happy about my trip.
I got a bag of Tostitos scoops, Tostitos dip, 2 2liters of sierra mist, 1 2liter of diet Pepsi, a gallon of milk, one package of Cover girl powder puffs, 3 Cover girl blushes, and a 4 pack of pretty nice sized plastic bowls great for cereals.
Retail cost for everything: $36.55
spent: $10.50
saved: $26.05=%71
I’m happy with that!

Are you paying dues at a club that you never use? Like, for instance, a gym membership or a country club membership? Cancel these club memberships, even if you think you might use them again someday – you can always renew the membership at a later date if it turns out that you actually do miss it.

Free Family Fun Night
A great way to spend some quality time with the family and make it fun is to do a power outage night! Now, a lot of us in the northwest already are forced into these at times, but why not plan for it and make it a fun time instead of a stressfull unprepared time. Get your flashlights and candles out and get ready for some fun! Light a fire or get out the old camperstove and make a quick and easy dinner. No stove? No Problem! Just have some sandwhiches and fruit cups or somethin. Grab the deck of cards or some board games. Play some charades, or do some shadow puppets for the younger kids. Tell some spookies stories. So may ways to spend a great themed night with the family. Unplugg for a moment and see how much fun you can really have with you family!
Enjoy!!

My goal this week....
So as I am broker than broke, as many people out there, my goal this week is to go to the store and get multiple items, and have a zero checkout. Here is my plan :)
I was able to obtain 12 of the "free 2 liter of Dr.Pepper free" coupons, as well as more of the "$8 off 2 Covergirl face product"coupons. I am going to go and get all 12 of the 2 liters since the coupon doesnt limit quantity, and go and get more of the Covergirl items that are under $4 (such as the spunges which i will be using in my goodie bags for my class giveaways). My goal is to have around $5 of overage to get us a gallon of milk for my daughters cereal in the mornings. Im pretty confident in this shopping trip and am very excited. I know it's not a huge trip, but what I want to show everyone is that we can do many trips and build a sufficent stockpile every week with out spending much. We are not going to be doing huge trips like on TLC's extreme couponing all the time because, as the interveiws with the ladies on the show have shown us, those trips are not usuall trips and were consistently their biggest trips ever that took the most planning.
Cant wait to show you all what I am able to do this week with pretty much a zero budget!
Thanks Always!

How to get your family involved
How to get your family involved
Sometimes the hardest part of trying to support your family on a budget is that you always feel alone. The kids are constantly leaving the lights on, you don’t feel like you get any help from your partner, or just maybe you don’t let anybody help. Whatever the case, here’s some tips to make things be easier, as a family.
Have the kids help you go through the papers, or give them a pair of scissors to help cut the coupons. The most important thing is let them be involved. That’s all our kids usually want is to spend more time with us and have our attention. Ask your partner if they would like to help, and if not, ask them if they could tend to dinner, or something else while you maintain the coupons, since the overall goal of this hobby is to save the family money. Try to maybe provide incentives to some of the older kids that may not want the attention so much. Offer them an hour extra TV or phone time, let them choose dinner, something to grab their attention and make them want to help.
Find a routine and as long as everyone works together as a family to save money, there is more money to have for other things (such as a teenagers birthday, wink wink, bribery) Either way, if you are unable to find a way to make this as less stressful as possible, then maybe we should try a new technique, but start off with some of these tips first and see how it goes. Hope this helps!
Thanks Always!

Tip Of The Day!
Freeze your credit...literally. Take your credit cards and put them in a ziplock or tupperware filled with water then place them in the freezer, not in your wallet where it’s easy to spend them. If you argue that you need it for “emergencies,” just be sure to keep a small amount of cash hidden in your wallet for these emergencies. If there truly was a credit card worthy emergency, slamming that block of credit card ice on the kitchen floor wouldn't really be that big of the deal now would it, other wise just be patient and defrost it in the sink, which will give you even more time to think about the "is it worth it" angle. Don’t keep plastic on you until you have the willpower to not use it even when you’re sorely tempted.

Don’t stress about falling behind on your clipping!
Don’t stress about falling behind on your clipping!
Every so often you are going to get caught up in life! That’s ok! J If you fall behind on clipping your coupons and have 2 weeks’ worth of papers to clip, don’t feel overwhelmed. Its ok, it happens to all of us. All that you need to do is find the motivation to get up and get started! One day after work while the kids are doing homework, get all the papers out and organize all your inserts, then call it a day. Then the next day go ahead and start clipping while the hubby makes dinner for a change (I’m sure he’d rather throw some dinner together than cut your coupons!). Then the next day put the kids in the bath and put your coupons away in your binder. Don’t look at it as a huge obstacle that you have to conquer right now. Break it up into sections and you’ll feel so much more at ease. Never should you feel overwhelmed or stressed about your coupons. Couponing should be a fun hobby for you that you enjoy that saves you money instead of costing you money! Hoped you enjoyed this lil’ tid bit! Come back daily for more great tips and advice on saving money every day!

Tip Of The Day!
It’s worth the time to do a bit of research when you buy a new appliance. A reliable, energy efficient washer and dryer might cost you quite a bit now, but if it continually saves you energy and lasts for fifteen years, you’ll save significant money in the long run. When you need to buy an appliance, research it – start with back issues of Consumer Reports at the library. An hour’s worth of research can easily save you hundreds of dollars.

Easy tip for keeping your home smelling wonderful
great way to keep your home smelling wonderful and inviting! For these cold winter months many of us burn to keep our homes warm. For any of you that have a fireplace with a kettle, or a wood burning stove....fill kettle or pot with water and place on top of stove.... just add cinnamon, orange or lemon peel(grated works best),or a few drops of vanilla extract into the water. As the stove or kettle gets hotter, the water starts to steam, and in the steam rises the wonderful smells of your basic house hold ingrediants! Hope you enjoyed this tip! New weekly poll posted!
New weekly poll posted: What scares you the most about couponing? Let us know your answer! At the end of the week we will focus on all the answers and how NOT scary they really can be! :) ENJOY!
Weekly poll results
When scoping out the registers, statistically you should go to the young male. He is typically more friendly, and more trusting of your couponing understanding. He is statistically more approachable and more likely to be more responsive to you and all of your coupons than any of the other available checkers. Check back in for our next weekly poll!

Tip Of The Day!
Be on top of everone turning off the lights!! Why are you paying for a room to be lighted, with the tv going when nobody is in there?! The key is to use less energy, particularly when you’re not using the device. Simply make it your best habit. You'll be surprised how much money will come back to you. Also try unplugging some of your devices. Instead of charging yourself phone everynight while you sleep, try charging it in your car while you drive, or at work while you are at your desk. Unplug that end table lamp the rarely gets used. Just by these househole items being plugged in they are sucking the money out of your pocket.
Hope you enjoyed this tip of the day.

10 fees you shouldnt be stuck paying
It's easy to overlook fees when they're just a couple of bucks. But even the small ones quickly add up. However, most of the time you can avoid being nickel and dimed. With the help of BillShrink -- a free cost-savings site -- we created a list of 10 fees you can escape.
1. 'Free' checking fee. Some banks are starting to attach more strings to their free checking accounts. That is, you'll have to pay a monthly fee unless you meet certain criteria. However, several online banks and community banks and some major banks still offer free checking without all the requirements to qualify.
2. Balance-transfer fee. Some credit card companies now charge up to 5% for balance transfers. So before you transfer a balance from one card to another with a low or 0% introductory rate, you should do the math to see if the amount of interest payments that you save with the introductory offer outweighs the balance-transfer fee that has to be paid immediately. You might find that you'll get a better deal by negotiating down the rate on your current card.
3. Retailer credit card fees. New credit card rules make it harder for retailers to extend credit on the spot. However, that doesn't mean you'll no longer hear "Do you want to save 10% on your purchase today by opening a card account with us?" The discount is tempting, but these cards often come with higher interest rates than traditional credit cards. If you don't pay your bill in full, that discount you got will quickly be wiped out by the high rate you'll be paying on your balance.
4. Credit card late fees. Although the new credit card rules prohibit card issuers from charging $25 for a first-time late payment, issuers can charge $35 if you're late a second time within six months. To avoid these fees, sign up for payment alerts from your credit card company. You'll receive an email or text message several days before your bill is due.
5. Rewards card annual fees. An increasing number of rewards cards charge annual fees. However, there are cards with great perks and no fees. BillShrink recommends Capital One No Hassle Miles Rewards, Chase Sapphire Card, and Pen Fed Visa Platinum Cashback Rewards.
6. Directory assistance fees. Calling 411 can cost $1.25 or more. You can get free directory assistance by calling 1-800-BING-411 (Bing is owned by Microsoft, the publisher of MSN Money) or 800-FREE-411 (you'll have to listen to an ad first).
7. Baggage fees. Unless you fly on Southwest or JetBlue, you'll probably pay a fee to check a bag. If you're flying with any of the other airlines and have to check a few bags, you might find it cheaper to send your luggage to your destination by FedEx, UPS or U.S. Postal Service ground shipping.
8. Airline booking fees. Don't even think about picking up the phone to book a flight -- unless you don't mind spending $15 or more for the privilege of talking to a booking agent. Book your flights online to avoid this fee.
9. Cellphone early termination fees. You can face a termination fee of $200 or more if you cancel your service before your contract is up. You can avoid these fees by signing up for prepaid service (and save money because these plans usually are cheaper).
10. Roaming fees. Make sure you understand how your cellphone roaming and international charges work. According to BillShrink, some roaming rates are $2.49 per minute. And, some carriers will even charge you to access your voicemail (a charge of $4.99 for a missed call) even if you don't pick up that call while you are roaming. If you send a video while roaming, you could be charged up to $7.
This article was reported by Cameron Huddleston for Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine.
